Shred Contest Winner - Moises Hernandez from Venezuela

We are proud to announce the winner of the SHRED CONTEST with CARLOS LICHMAN. The winner is MOISES HERNANDEZ from Bejuma, Venezuela. Moises submitted his video version and cover of CARLOS LICHMAN's shred song "Masters Of Shred" to Evolution Rock Metal Podcast. 

Moises Hernandez will receive the CARLOS LICHMAN CDs "Firestorm", "Genocide" and 2 packs of Giannini Electric Guitar Strings. Furthermore, Moises will be featured with an interview on the new Masters of Shred episode featuring Angel Vivaldi from NY.

MASTERS OF SHRED: Congratulations! How do you feel?

MOISES HERNANDEZ: I feel very good for winning the contest.

MASTERS OF SHRED: How did you find out about the show and contest? 

MOISES HERNANDEZ: Zack Uidl, shred guitarist (www.zackuidl.com), sent me an invitation for the contest.

MASTERS OF SHRED: Were you a fan of Carlos Lichman's music before you heard about the contest?

MOISES HERNANDEZ: Not really.

MASTERS OF SHRED:  How long did it take you to learn the song: Masters of Shred?

MOISES HERNANDEZ: It took me four days, practicing two hours everyday.

MASTERS OF SHRED:  For how long have you been a guitarist?

MOISES HERNANDEZ:  I've been playing for five years.

MASTERS OF SHRED:  What can you tell us about your guitar?

MOISES HERNANDEZ:  It is a Yamaha, with dimarzio picks.. about 24 spaces and Floyd Rose.

MASTERS OF SHRED:  Are you currently enrolled in an academy or studies regarding guitar?

MOISES HERNANDEZ: No. I learn through video lessons. I've never really had a guitar teacher.

MASTERS OF SHRED: Now that you have won. What do you plan to do next?

MOISES HERNANDEZ: I want to start a death-tech band and a progressive band, as well. 

MASTERS OF SHRED: What advice would you give to people who are starting to learn how to play the guitar?

MOISES HERNANDEZ: To watch videos from famous guitarists like Kiko Loureiro, Marcelo Barbosa or John Petrucci. Because they are good musicians.

MASTERS OF SHRED: Would you like to thank someone?  

MOISES HERNANDEZ: Thanks to all the people that believed in me, and gave me their support.

MOISES HERNANDEZ: En realidad no

MASTERS OF SHRED:  ¿Cuánto tiempo te tardaste en aprender la canción Masters Of Shred?

MOISES HERNANDEZ: Cuatro dias, dos horas por cada día.

MASTERS OF SHRED:  ¿Cuánto tiempo tienes de ser un guitarista?

MOISES HERNANDEZ:  Hace cinco años toco la guitarra.

MASTERS OF SHRED:  ¿Qué nos puedes decir de tú guitarra?

MOISES HERNANDEZ:  Es una Yamaha, con pastillas Dimarzio de 24 trastres y con Floyd Rose.

MASTERS OF SHRED:  ¿Te encuentras acutalmente estudianto guitarra en alguna académia?

MOISES HERNANDEZ: No, aprendo por medio de video clases.. Nunca tuve realmente un profesor de guitarra.

MASTERS OF SHRED: Ahora que has ganado. ¿Qué planes tienes para el futuro?

MOISES HERNANDEZ: Pienso formar una banda de Death tecnico...y una de progresivo.

MASTERS OF SHRED: ¿Qué consejo le darías a las personas que comienza a tocar guitarra?

MOISES HERNANDEZ: Que vean videos de guitarristas conocidos como Kiko Loureiro, Marcelo Barbosa o John Petrucci, son buenos musicos.
